We stock a variety of different loaves to suit everyone&#39;s tastes, but if you are certain you will need bread it is always best to call and order to avoid disappointment.

Often on a Tuesday and Wednesday, we also have freshly made Chelsea buns.

Fresh sponges are made every Wednesday and Friday, and we offer Victoria Sponges, Coffee and Walnut, and Chocolate.

Along side these, a variety of&nbsp;individual cakes are stocked behind&nbsp;the deli counter should you only want something small. Cakes behind the deli vary daily however if there is something in particular you would like then please contact us via telephone and we will do our best to accommodate.&nbsp;

Here at the Farm Shop, we all like to get stuck in and show off our baking skills. Every day we have fresh Quiches, Sausage Rolls, Vegetarian and Vegan Rolls&nbsp;and&nbsp;Scones.&nbsp;

Every Wednesday and Friday our wonderful baker, Ruth, comes in and cooks our ever popular classic sponges as well as a variety of sweet treats to sell behind the deli counter, please come in and see what we have on offer.

Every day at the farm shop, we have a fresh delivery of fruit and vegetables from our supplier based near Whitchurch. Neil has over 7 years in the Fruit and Veg trade, so only picks the freshest and best quality for us.&nbsp;

British grown food that is in season is better tasting than force grown fruit and veg, that&#39;s why we aim to stock only seasonal fruit and vegetables that are&nbsp;British, where possible.&nbsp;&nbsp;

We are doing everything we can in order to reduce plastic waste, meaning the majority of our fruit and vegetables are sold loose and by the kilo, packed in paper bags by yourself.

Fresh Fruit and Vegetables

The Barker Family has been farming The Great Berwick Estate since 1949 after Sam&rsquo;s Grandfather was granted tenancy there on the Berwick Estate. From there, as a first-generation farmer, he set out to breed pigs and dairy Friesian cows.&nbsp; 
From there, Great Berwick&rsquo;s milking herd was developed into one of the most successful in the country, changing to organic once Sam graduated from Agricultural College. 
In 2004 they took the decision to sell the dairy herd due to the low milk prices being offered by the supermarkets.&nbsp; 
In order to maintain the Organic crop rotations, keeping some form of livestock was necessary in order to keep the system going, due to this they established a herd of Longhorn Beef Suckler cows. His mission to create the best beef in the UK. 
They have 80 Longhorn cows in their main breeding herd but counting the calves, yearlings, and their 3 bulls, they now have a headage of 235 cattle on the farm.&nbsp; 
The Longhorns play an important role within their organic cereal production on the farm, with the cows grazing the clover-rich pastures, which also plays an important role in locking naturally occurring nitrogen into the soil. This in turn produces higher crop yields and is better for the environment as it diminishes the need for man-made fertilisers. 
Great Berwick Estate is 100% organic, which is regulated by Organic Farmers &amp; Growers.&nbsp; Longhorn Beef is specially selected for meat quality, flavour, and tenderness, and has even been chosen as the perfect steak by Heston Blumenthal himself!

Due to the nature of the slow rearing proccess of this meat, it is not continually stocked and instead we have a delivery every couple of months, to enquire about this please give us a call and we will be happy to inform you.

Organic Longhorn Beef

Rob and Alec Mercer are fourth-generation farmers, with their family having farmed in the heart of rural Staffordshire since 1930. Together they have generations of knowledge passed down from their father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Their familiarity has helped them develop environmentally sound and high welfare orientated farms. 
At Packington, they pride themselves in their rigorous welfare techniques, ensuring that from one day old to fully grown, their chickens are looked after with the best care at every stage of their development.

The chicks arrive on the farm at just one day old, housed in special sheds that are full of warm bedding, heating, and top-class ventilation. Once the birds are around 3 weeks old and strong enough, the shed doors are opened and the birds can roam to their heart&#39;s content, until the evening where they are brought back inside to protect them from nighttime prey.&nbsp; 
All Packingtons free-range chickens roam freely on established pasture, of various grasses and clovers.&nbsp; There are strategically placed perches and shelters to offer shade, food, and water.&nbsp;

We have a delivery of Packingtons chickens every Tuesday, with various cuts available. Often is it best to ring and order your chicken with us as they usually sell very fast!

Pete and Lynne Blackford have been producing and selling the finest quality Dexter beef for over ten years. 
All their Dexter beef is home bred and naturally reared on lowland pastures on their smallholding in Overton-on-dee, close to Wrexham, north wales.&nbsp; 
All their beef is extensively reared, benefiting from a truly free-range outdoor life, whilst they receive the highest standards of care.&nbsp; 
Once the cattle are fully matured, the cows only travel a short distance to a local family-run abattoir and butchery, where the cows are treated with respect and care before slaughter. They are then hung for at least 3 weeks. Their butchers then cut and pack the meet to customer requirements and are then ready for the shelf.&nbsp;

Due to the slow rearing process of this meat, it is not stocked regularly in our shop. We have&nbsp;a delivery every few months,&nbsp;we usually have a stock in our freezer and are happy to take orders for when the beef arrives.&nbsp;

Dexter Beef

Based in Melverly, Melvin supplies us with the best cuts of free range bacon, and gammon. Every Thursday is delivery day, and he brings us plenty of goodies such as sausages of all flavours shapes and sizes&nbsp;and dry cured meats.

Our Homemade Sausage Rolls are made with this delicious sausage meat, and are definitely worth a try!

<h1>Our free range Shropshire geese</h1>

From experience these birds provide the best frame to build on for the Christmas market.

The geese are reared free range. They graze and roam freely with ad lib supplements of home produced wheat (grown to Farm Assured standards), potatoes and a specially prepared corn ration, without the use of growth promoters and additives.

At night the geese are brought indoors, for protection reasons, bedded down daily on fresh straw. Though sheltered at night they are still open to fresh air and natural light. All our geese grow naturally to reach full maturity.

Our geese are traditionally processed in December. Each bird is individually dry plucked and waxed then hung for 7-10 days in a chilled environment to produce a deep and succulent flavour. All birds are dressed and finished by hand.

On collection each goose will be oven ready with vacuum packed giblets and some fat, all presented in a convenient carry home box along with cooking instructions. When you arrive home, store your goose and giblets separately in the refrigerator.

Roast goose makes for a very special Christmas celebration. Goose is a rich succulent meat so you don&rsquo;t need large portions.

It contains a low level of saturated fats and a higher proportion of the more desirable mono-unsaturated and essential fatty acids and only a mere trace of cholesterol.

Goose fat is highly prized amongst top chefs; use it to roast your potatoes for superb results, also for basting other meats and for excellent pastry. It will store in your refrigerator for several months and also freezes well.

If you want to order a goose for an occasion other than Christmas, for example, New Year, as several of our customers do, collection would still be made before Christmas and your goose should then be frozen to enjoy later. Freezing has no adverse effect and allows you to enjoy your goose when you like.

<h1>Our free range Shropshire bronze turkeys</h1>

We have reared our turkeys from day olds which arrived at the beginning of July. They have been carefully selected from slow growing strains and are allowed to grow to maturity, which allows the meat to develop fully. They are bred for &lsquo;good old fashioned&rsquo; flavour and texture. This is worlds apart from the modern fast growing commercially killed and processed turkeys.

When you collect your bronze turkey don&rsquo;t be surprised by the black stubs from the feathers, they are the best way to recognise a real bronze turkey and will shrivel during roasting.

Brisbourne Geese & Turkeys

Shropshire Salumi is a small company based to the north of Shrewsbury producing handmade Salami the traditional way, priding themselves&nbsp;on the quality of ingredients and artisan methods. All the pork used in the production is outdoor reared Gloucester Old Spot sourced less than 2 miles from the premised where they are prepared and never use mass reared pork, taking pride knowing that their pigs are happy pigs!&nbsp; All spices used are sourced from ethical suppliers and they use traditional casings for their products.

​Although you may not think of Shropshire when thinking of salami however they produce&nbsp;full flavoured, richly textured salamis and cured meats, created by hand, just&nbsp;how they should be!

All&nbsp;Shropshire Salami&#39;s are are hung for a minimum of 30 days in order to fully cure to ensure the best flavour experience for you!

Frozen Goods

Each cloth bound Appleby&#39;s Cheshire takes a day to make from raw milk, and around 12 weeks to mature. Each round of cheese encapsulating a moment in time, the soil,&nbsp; the grass pastures, the gentle cows, the weather and of course the fresh, raw milk. The milk is the master ingredient along with traditional cultures such as rennet and salt from the Cheshire plains and annatto seed extract which gives the cheese its unique warm colouring. The cheeses are then matured in old barns with Napoleonic timbers.&nbsp;The origin and flora of the natural surroundings give the Appleby&#39;s cheeses a totally unique flavour.

&#39;Here at Peter&rsquo;s Yard, we want to bring the very best of Swedish baking to the rest of the world. Our story began when our founders, Ian and Wendy set out on a mission to discover the best Swedish bakeries and bring some of their favourite bread, cakes and biscuits back to the UK. On their journey they visited Peter Ljungquist&rsquo;s Swedish bakery, Peter&rsquo;s Yard. There they drank coffee, chatted to Peter and enjoyed &ldquo;fika&rdquo;. They also discovered the most delicious crispbread (kn&auml;ckebr&ouml;d) they had ever eaten. It was simply too good to remain confined to one small bakery, so they decided to work with Peter and another friend John, to make this authentically Swedish, delicious crispbread available across the UK.

The team used naturally fermenting sourdough, Shipton Mill organic flour and the very best, natural ingredients we could find. Recommendations spread by word of mouth and soon, our wavy, golden crispbreads started to be selected by chefs at Michelin starred restaurants and began to win plenty of awards. From a cautious start, making just 50 kg of crispbread a week (that&rsquo;s not even enough to fill one small bakery van), we&rsquo;re now producing fifty times that much in order to keep up with the growing demand from food lovers who claim to be &ldquo;addicted&rdquo; to their crisp texture and subtle flavour.

<h2>Farr&rsquo;s Field Orchard near&nbsp;Bishop&#39;s Frome in Herefordshire, is now one of the few remaining small commercial top fruit orchards. They&nbsp;use no sprays or chemicals and the fruit is harvested manually and carefully. They still use their old grey Fergie tractor, scythes, and sickles to control the vegetation and the crop is weighed on our vintage Avery scales.</h2>

Run by the Pearce family, all fruit is hand-picked and hand sorted, so only the best go for juicing. They&nbsp;grow the popular varieties of Spartan, Fiesta, and Red Falstaff, but also the much rarer Herefordshire Russet and the vintage varieties of Blenheim Orange, and Pitmaston Pineapple; an apple naturally flavoured with &hellip;&hellip;.delicate hints of pineapple.

We stock a wide range of their&nbsp;Apple and Pear juices, as well as their still cider.

Farr's Field Orchard

Hugh Rock, developed the first squashes and cordials more than 30 years ago in Berkshire, his&nbsp;aim was to produce organic drinks that everyone could enjoy, in response to people&rsquo;s concerns about the quality of soft drinks and to avoid the long list of chemicals found.&nbsp; His ethos, to produce drinks that did not use artificial sweeteners, colours or additives, was one we greatly admired.

Mr and Mrs Watson have their own farm near Newtown in Powys and supply us with the finest quality free range hen eggs.&nbsp;

We have their eggs fresh every Thursday morning, with boxes of medium and large available.

Suma Wholefoods are a cooperative distributer, and they provide us with a variety of dried and&nbsp;tinned goods including nuts, seeds, dried fruits, falafel mix, tinned pulses, coffees, teas and much more. They also provide us with frozen vegetarian meat alternatives from &#39;Goodlife&#39; , which really excite the tastebuds.

Every Friday we have Free Range mixed chicken eggs delivered by Mrs Davies, from their farm in Llanymynech, Powys.

The Froggatt family has farmed in Staffordshire for four generations, caring for their land through sustainable farming. In 2011, the family saw an opportunity to start producing their own crisps with their potato crop and their own rapeseed oil.

Just Crisps&nbsp;are&nbsp;grown, harvested, cooked and bagged on their farm in Hill Ridware, Staffordshire.

We have a selection of flavours in our shop.

Union is founded on the principle of marrying high quality speciality coffee with responsible sourcing, making coffee better for everyone from drinkers to farmers. The creators of the brand Steven and Jeremy travelled the world to find farmer partners to work with (They&nbsp;still work with their&nbsp;first ever farmer partner, Maraba from Rwanda), assembled a brilliant team and became one of the first specialty coffee roasters in the UK.

In shop we have a small selection of Ecover products. As a cleaning business they are doing a great deal to reduce the impact their cleaning products have on the environment.

Their original phosphate-free formula did not add phosphates to the world&rsquo;s waterways. However now they&#39;re&nbsp;on the case to use less water, full stop.

They&#39;re aiming to make all their bottles made by recycled plastic by 2020.

You get out what you put in, which is why&nbsp;most of their&nbsp;ingredients are made of biodegradable plant-derived substances,&nbsp;that smell fresh and clean without harmful or toxic substances.

In Shop we offer a refill service for Ecoleaf products, simply&nbsp;bring in your empty plastic bottles to us and we will refill them for you.

Findlater&#39;s Pate&#39;s are handmade in small batches, delivering exceptional flavours and textures.&nbsp;They produce a wide range of pat&eacute; including Chicken, Duck and Venison recipes , are all made with top quality ingredients, including a generous amount of butter. We offer an exciting range of vegetarian and fish pat&eacute;s and have also extended our range to include gourmet dips. Many of their&nbsp;products have been awarded Great Taste Gold awards and have been judged worthy of 12 gold awards since 2008.&nbsp; In addition to being multiple Gold award winning and uncompromisingly tasty, Findlater&#39;s&nbsp;Pat&eacute; and Coleslaw are naturally free of gluten and suitable for Coeliacs.

The Derwen Farm Shop is situated on the grounds of Derwen garden centre, making it an ideal place to stop by after shopping in the Garden Centre. Racheal, the Farm Shop owner has a passion for good food, and together with Caroline, the Farm shop manager, have sourced many delicious foods to keep our shop stocked. We have a fresh bread delivery every morning between Monday and Saturday, supplied by both Smiths bakery of Oswestry &amp; Humphries bakery of Llandyssil. 
Every morning in our kitchen we prepare food for behind the Deli. This includes large and small quiches, sausage rolls, and pasties to take away. 
The shop is full to the brim with everything you could need for your weekly shop as well as luxury items and gifts.

At The Derwen Farm Shop, we pride ourselves on good quality, fresh and local produce &ndash; organic where possible. The friendly and pleasant atmosphere is a welcome change from the supermarket.
